Friends of the Pacific Grove Public Library and the Central Coast Writers Branch of CWC sponsored a very special evening of “Writers’ Readings” that brought togehter writers and poets from the Monterey Peninsula to share their creativity and joy of writing. The event was held at the PG Public Library on Thursday, August 13th and all donations went to benefit the Pacific Grove Public Library.

Many CCW Branch members added their voices to the evening. In the words of CCW member - and the main force behind the evening - Cameron Douglas, "Not since the days of the Thunderbird Bookstore has such a wide variety of local wordsmiths come together to share their work with an audience."

Among the CCW members reading were: Judy Zhu, who has won many literary awards in her native China, Central Coast Writers Branch President Harold Grice, "The Shoe Fits" author and poet Jonathan Shoemaker, CCW contest winner and current branch contest Chair David Michael Thomas, past branchprogram Chair Walter Gourlay, Kerry Wood and Art Gallegos.

Others included PG's own poet and musician Bill Minor, poet Eduard Jarvis, poet Neal Whitman, and Cultural Arts Commissioner Laura Emerson.
